SSS Optical Technologies, LLC develops and supplies innovative instruments, materials, and other products based on photonics (including nanophotonics and metaphotonics) for the agricultural, bio-medical, defense, and research markets. The company also provides consulting and educational services in the fields of physics and photonics (including characterization of materials, simulations, and experimental data analysis). It was founded in 2005 by Dr. Sergey S. Sarkisov.

 

Dr. Sergey Sarkisov has more than 40 years of experience in research, education, and product and business development in the fields of nanotechnology, photonics, sensors, and lasers. He has authored and co-authored more than 250 technical publications (including 55 papers in peer review technical journals, 5 US patents, 5 foreign patents, and five book chapters). Dr. Sarkisov has received the Rudolf Kingslake Medal and Prize of the International Society of Optical Engineering SPIE for his contribution in the field in 2006. For 12 years (since 1993) he worked as a research and teaching faculty at the Alabama A&M University (Normal. AL 35762) teaching various courses in college and graduate physics. He has also completed (in a capacity of Principal Investigator, co-PI, or consultant) more than a dozen of research projects sponsored by various US Government agencies with a total amount of funding close to $5M. Dr. Sarkisov has also served as an advisor to more than a dozen M.S. and Ph.D. graduates at Alabama A&M majoring in Applied Optics and Material Sciences. In April 2005 he founded high-tech start-up business SSS Optical Technologies focused on commercialization of various advanced technologies related to photonics, renewable enery, anti-counterfeit technologies, air quality monitoring, ultra-bright light sources, and lasers. Dr. Sarkisov is currently holding the positions of the President, CEO, CTO/Chief Scientist in the company.

 

SSS Optical Techonologies has its headquarters located in Huntsville, Alabama, the hub of high technology in the Southeastern USA.
